How it all started
In 2000, when Bram Bosveld, Hugo de Koning and Rogier Thewessen were still studying, they looked for part-time jobs. Unable to find anything online, they set up their own job board: StudentenWerk. An online platform for employers to post their jobs and students to apply. Easy, fast and targeted.
Sitting in his attic bedroom one day, Bram was called by an employer. "Do you also cover temporary staffing?" they asked. "Yes, we do," Bram answered, right before informing the others: "We're going into temporary staffing!" A new type of temporary employment agency was born.
Easiest to find online
Just go for it; that is still our company's approach. And that mindset helped StudentenWerk grow into YoungCapital: a recruitment agency with over 20,000 candidates at work every week. Besides having the largest database of young people in Europe, we're easier to find online than any other employment agency.

Like our founders, we think in terms of opportunities. And we seize them too. YoungCapital is part of The Works, an international group of brands that aims to help all people find work. And we're good at that. YoungCapital Germany and YoungCapital NL are experiencing phenomenal growth, our StudentJob network is active in 10 European countries, and Jobbird.com is one of the largest recruitment platforms in the Netherlands. Other than that, we have a secondment, training label, and used our funds to establish the freelancers' platform YoungOnes.

YoungCapital's growth has been unstoppable in recent years. we're ranked fifth in the list of fastest-growing companies and have gone from 500 to 1,300 employees in just three years. We're especially proud of our growth because it offers our own people many opportunities to develop and grow with us.
We practice what we preach
For over twenty years, we have been the link between young people and companies. Perhaps that seems logical, seeing as we started with student jobs. But, it's also a deliberate choice: we believe in the power of young professionals. After all, with an average age of 28, we, ourselves, are living proof of what the new generation can achieve.
