Advanced Clinical Pharmacist – Primary Care (Band 8A) 1.0 WTE, 37.5hrs, Permanent, Salary Scale (£50,965-£55,016)​​​​​​​

Base: Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Edinburgh.

NHS Lothian continues to expand its primary care pharmacy team. We are excited to invite applications from pharmacists wishing to join us as we support the remobilisation of health care services and transform the way that we work.

We are currently interested to hear from pharmacist independent prescribers who can lead the work of our Covid Anti-Viral Medications Clinic.  As we learn to live with covid, there are many new therapies that aim to keep people well at home. You will play a pivotal role in the assessment of patient eligibility, suitability for treatment, prescribe and co-ordinate the community-pharmacy based dispensing to the patient. You will have significant clinical support from specialist services.

Working with the Health and Social Care Partnership Lead Pharmacists, you will refine this service to local needs. Depending upon future demand, this post is a generic Advanced or Specialist Clinical Pharmacy one and you will be supported to develop through the General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Framework and be allocated to working in General Practices in support of GMS Pharmacotherapy Services.  

Applications for part time or full-time work will be considered. Please note you may be required to work weekends on rota.
