HEALTHCARE SUPPORT WORKER – ACUTE MEDICINE UNIT

Band 2 : £19,609 - £21,615 (pro rata)​​​​​​​

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Support Worker to join our team within the Acute Medicine Unit at Raigmore Hospital.

We are looking for a motivated, caring and compassionate nurse who is able to work well under pressure that is already experienced or is looking to gain experience within an acute hospital environment.

The Acute Medicine Unit covers an Acute Assessment Unit, Medical Short Stay/Infection Unit, Ambulatory Emergency Care and Medical High Dependency unit.

The Acute Assessment Unit (Ward Ga) admits acutely unwell patients direct from the community & Emergency Department. This is a fast paced and interesting environment to work within.

Medical Short stay & Infection ward provides care to patients who are expected to have a length of stay of less than 72 hours, focusing on timely discharge and patients with a wide range of Infection related illnesses.

Medical High dependency delivers level 2 care, an ideal environment to learn critical care skills.

Ie: NIV, inotrope support, monitoring arterial & central lines etc

Rotation throughout the unit is in place.

You should be able to work well as part of a large and diverse multidisciplinary team.

Candidates should have excellent care values and a strong sense of team spirit coupled with a sense of humour. Candidates should have enthusiasm to work, learn and develop yourself and colleagues.
