Care Assistant - Bank - Care Home in Cheltenham
Job description
Compassionate and caring?
Able to give support to families?
Ready for a job where you can feel proud about what you do?
Barchester want to hear from you.
We’re looking for a dedicated, warm-hearted Care Assistant to work in our care home. This incredibly special role will see you supporting the team in providing dedicated, expert care to residents of all ages and abilities.
That will mean everything from preparing food and making beds to ensuring each of our residents has meaningful one-to-one time with a member of staff. Above all, you’ll perform any duty necessary to help our residents maintain not only their dignity, but also their independence and well-being.
A crucial part of the role will be implementing each residents person-centred care plan, by recording observations, including weight, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, nutrition, tissue viability and liquid intake. A willingness to learn and develop your skills in this area is essential, as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ideal candidate for this role will have some knowledge of caring for the elderly or vulnerable, or possess customer-facing experience. No care experience is necessary as you will be fully trained, however, as we cannot teach compassion, this is an essential requirement.
While there are no specific qualifications required for this role, it would be advantageous to have a level 2 NVQ in Health and Social care, as would possessing a Grade ‘C’ or above in both GCSE English and Maths.
Sound like you fit the bill? If so, then this could be your opportunity to build your skills and career with one of the UK’s leading care providers. As well as a competitive salary, Barchester provides one of the best rewards packages in the care sector, including:
• Free learning and development
• Profit share scheme
• Childcare vouchers
• Retail discounts
• Leisure savings
• Holiday and travel discounts
This is a BANK position to provide cover as and when required; for example for planned absence such as annual leave, or unplanned absence such as sick leave. The hours and days will vary accordingly.
If you have the unique qualities required for this exciting role and want to work with an organisation that provides the type of care you’d expect for your loved ones, we would welcome your application.
Our Care Home Manager is also happy to welcome you into the home for an informal chat, simply pop in to find out more about working at Barchester.
