General Summary:

This position reports to the Composites Team Leader or his designee at the race factory in Oxfordshire. Responsible for the assembly, servicing and repair of all composite components fitted to our Formula 1 Race Car's. Cover and attend Races Events and Tests as required reporting to the Chief Mechanic when trackside. Key Responsibilities: Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments. Responsibility for the cleanliness and condition of your work area Following Engineering procedures and protocols as dictated by the F1 Team pertaining to assembly, operation, and safety. Collaborate and work cohesively with the Factory Operations Team Leader daily regarding workloads, fault reporting and diagnoses. Responsible for the condition and maintenance of all Wings, Bodywork, Floors and Brake ducts when trackside ensuring they meet all build and quality specifications. Expected to work on the Car during running under the lead of the Number 1 Mechanic and Chief Mechanic Management of minimum stock levels of components, spares, and consumables, working closely with the Chief Mechanic and Parts Coordinators Assist and work with the Parts Coordinators managing the Turnaround and flow of composite components between the track, factory and suppliers. Expected to be able to take part in Pit Stops. Assist and support chosen departments to facilitate Turnarounds, Engineering Projects, Car Builds and Event Support. Report reliability issues as they occur and seek advice before undertaking any out of the ordinary tasks. Follow all safety regulations in all venues. Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Composites Team Leader or their designee.

Education and Work Experience: Previous experience in a similar mechanical role within Formula 1, World Sports Cars, or F2 is preferred - however consideration will be given to a candidate who can demonstrate professionalism and a sound record of service within the Motorsport Industry.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills: A comprehensive mechanical understanding gained in Formula 1 motor racing. An ability to read and interpret technical drawings and information pertaining to assembly, periodic updates and modifications. A comprehensive understanding of composite repair methods including bond preparation, resin selection and laminating techniques gained in a trackside environment you should be able to apply these skills often in a limited time frame and under pressure. The ability to consistently work to the highest standards with an exceptional attitude towards attention to deta Basic fabrication and machining skills. A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment. A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential. Communication, ability to work under pressure, self-motivation, time management, conflict resolution, adaptability, willingness to learn, etc.

Equipment and Applications: Solid computer knowledge, preferred experience in Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Dynamics AX and 3DX Mechanical aptitude. Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends. This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids.
